Residential school trips at the River Wye Activity Centre are focussed on making a true difference to every child that visits us. Our goal is to provide quality educational school trips and memories that last a lifetime.
Whatever age group, we work closely with you to tailor all indoor and outdoor learning activities to be age appropriate.
For many children this is the first significant time they’ve spent away from home – a scary prospect! However by the end of their school residential adventure trip we guarantee that their confidence will be significantly improved.
Our instructors are highly experienced in working with young children and helping them overcome fears and challenges, They will often bringing out another side which teachers may not have seen before.
ACTIVITIES
We can arrange a whole host of activities on site, such as archery, team building and games, as well as having our own launch point immediately adjacent to the River Wye, for canoeing and kayaking trips down to Hay on Wye, Whitney and beyond.
Additional activities can be arranged, either on site or close by, include climbing, abseiling, gorge walking, quad biking, stand up paddle boarding, mountain biking and bushcraft, (all with experienced instructors), to name just a few! Fabulous walking routes are nearby in the spectacular Brecon Beacons.
Don’t forget we also have seven acres of contained grounds, ideal for team games! Whatever your requirements, we will happily build a quotation designed specifically for your trip.
ACCOMMODATION
Our house and grounds are perfect for school trips and activity days. We are able to accommodate up to 70 guests across the main house and bunkhouse on site, as well as having ample room to pitch tents.
Our rooms offer dorm style bunk accommodation, ranging from small two bunk rooms, to large dorms with capacity for up to 12 guests.

MEALS
We have recently been awarded a five star food hygiene rating and the feedback on the food we have delivered all season has been fantastic. We cater for any type of dietary requirements and find that themed meal nights work really well.. i.e. BBQ night, Pizza night, Curry Night etc. We recommend at least one hot meal per day with a good continental breakfast including cereal / fruit and pastries with a packed lunch to take with for the days activities.
